    David Thairu I was in Jamhuri from 1966-1969 and left to join my dads business in Lavington Green. It was around that time that the then Education minister, Gikonyo Kiano came for the changing of school name from Duke to Jamhuri. Mr. Wood was Head Master at that time. Mr Chiplanker and we used to make fun of how he pronounced words. Best time of my life was there. I remember classmates eg Tarik who did well in sports, Mohan whose family had a shop in then Government road.
